Ice Dye Tricks: Confetti dyeing

To get a fun confetti effect on your fabric, you will follow the same steps as ice dyeing, but you won't use any ice! You'll just sprinkle dye powder directly on your wet fabric (that has been soaked in soda ash).

Here's some masks we made out of a big piece of confetti-dyed fabric. We literally used part of an old cotton sheet (beat-up fibers take the dye really well), wetted it and rung it out, spread it out on the concrete studio floor, and sprinkled one of our pre-mixed shakers all over the fabric! Then we left it overnight. Because the fabric was damp, the dye powder was not airborne.
