Understanding Two-layer Batiks: an affordable overview

Your quick-start guide to understanding the multi-layer batik process, start to finish!

Enjoy this free mini-course! In it, you'll watch me take a cotton tapestry (wall hanging) through all the phases of being batiked. See the stages of:

1. Rendering the design in hot wax (first drawn in washable marker)

2. Dyeing the first layer (the under layer) red

3. Adding more wax onto the areas I wish to keep red, furthering the design

4. Dyeing the final piece dark blue

5. Boiling out the wax

If you didn't quite "get" batik before, this should help immensely!
